Cardcon 2026 and the Rudy Draft you shouldn't miss

Cardcon is back in Utrecht on November 7 and 8, 2026 — and presale opens tomorrow, August 1, at 12:00. Last year was my first Cardcon, and it's an easy recommendation. From trying out new games to competing in serious tournaments, Cardcon really has it all. But if I can give one tip for experiencing Cardcon as a Magic draft fan, it's this: sign up for a Rudy Draft. I always describe it as a one-shot cube — packed with wacky archetypes, cards you didn't even know existed, and combos that are as well thought out as they are far-fetched. You even stand a chance at pulling a real OG dual land. In short, a unique experience you need to try at least once, curated by someone with decades of Magic experience.
